Brazilian Kingwood
Academic name: Dalbergia cearensis
Leguminosae Crassa lily
Also known as violet wood, it is a leguminous wood characterized by beautiful purple coloring.
It is similar to Mexican Kingwood (aka Camatillo) which is native to Mexico, but it seems to be a different species.
Although it was not used for guitars as rare material, it matches very well even when used in a saddle, and has similar acousitic characteristics to thouse famous New Brazilian rosewood.
It gives you a juicy and elastic sound with clearness.
Excellent in volume and balance.
